Any static Imperial position will have its garrison supplemented by a number of pre-fabricated defensive constructions, ranging from pre-fabricated barricades surrounding dug-in anti-aircraft guns or heavy artillery pieces to automated defence guns commonly known as ‘Tarantulas’.

The Quad Launcher is a highly effective anti-infantry and suppression weapon, lobbing four shells at a time down onto enemy trenches, or used for point defence in a direct fire role against enemy infantry attacks. Sentry guns are automated weapon systems, utilising simple logic engines and infused with the machine spirit to allow them to operate without a controller. The heavy bolter sentry gun is designed to target enemy infantry, with rapid bursts from its twin heavy bolters it offers a significant deterrent to enemy assaults.
