First arrange how you want you trench works to look.

Place the trench assembly onto the middle of the foam board and draw around the base.

You should end up with a clearly marked outline of where you want he Trench works to sit.

Now get a sharp modelling knife and carefully cut the outline of the Trench set out.

Lift the out the cut out section and check the fit of the trenchworks.

As the foam board is only half the thickness we need we can use the cut out to make a template for a second piece of foam boared.

Again check the fit to make sure all is well

Now put a layer of polyfiller over the the foam board, this helps to break up the smooth and flat finish of the board.

Once the filler is dry paint on a coat of textured paint, mixed with sand and gravel.
